This is the story of Nora Vale, who strives to rebuild her life and find a fresh start after enduring thirteen years of heartbreaking, unrequited love.

For over a decade, Nora devoted herself entirely to Luca Wolfe—attending to his every need—yet he remained cold and distant, his heart forever fixed on his first love, Celia. In public, he shunned Nora, mocking her as inferior to Celia and harshly rejecting any gesture of intimacy. When Nora witnessed Luca lavishing his tenderness and affection on Celia while treating her like a shameful burden, her thirteen years of silent devotion finally crumbled.

Haunted by painful memories of humiliation and embarrassment from a past school fair, Nora found herself mired in sorrow, regret, and disillusionment. The story chronicles her arduous journey of healing from this painful, one-sided attachment: she learns to let go of her long-held obsession with Luca, summons the courage to walk away from an imbalanced and cruel relationship, and embarks on a new chapter defined by hope, self-worth, and independence.
