I Woke Up in 1865 with a Debt, a Widow, and a Rifle Full Episodes

In 1865, after the Civil War ended, Martin — a modern special forces soldier — woke from a coma following a mission to find himself inhabiting another man's body: a Union Army engineer discharged from the war and returning home. The original owner's elder brother had been hounded to death over gambling debts, leaving behind a debt of $2,500, a collapsing wooden cabin, and a widow named Susan too terrified to lift her head, cowed by the debt collectors and thugs. In this river valley, far beyond the reach of any real law or garrison, whoever held a gun decided whether anyone else got to live. On a stormy night, Martin came home — and walked straight into a debt collector in the middle of raping Susan. Martin struck in time and drove the man off. Susan told him that his brother had been hounded to death by these very men, and fury ignited in Martin's heart. That night, Susan drew water for Martin to bathe and tended to him, even offering to relieve his needs — but he refused. The storm that night blew the sheep pen apart, so the next day Martin began repairing the pen and the cabin. The debt collector Cole returned with five or six men, threatening to drag Susan away to settle the debt. Martin beat Cole off. Martin knew that true safety never came from winning a single brawl — it came from a system of defense. Drawing on his engineer's experience, he began to fortify the cabin: reinforcing the walls, rebuilding the foundation, setting up hidden observation ports, turning the slope behind the house into an early-warning line, and linking the barn, the well, the stable, and the woodshed into a chain of defensive nodes. With sanitation knowledge far ahead of its time, he gradually solved the problems of hunger, disease, ammunition shortages, and scarce manpower. Little by little, the broken house became a true stronghold that could hold, fight, conceal, and resupply. Martin's deeds drew the attention of widows and young women in the village — many came to his door offering marriage. Susan urged him that marrying and having children was the real priority, but Martin said making money came first. He began brewing wine and hunting, and soon saved up a sum, helping to pay off his brother's debts. Susan began to help him keep accounts, store grain, and handle other supporting tasks. Martin also rescued two sisters, Phoebe and Hannah, who were being bullied by local thugs.
